Reveal Additional Information With a Simple Rollover | ||
| Books have footnotes to include additional information on a page without a lot of parentheses, em dashes, or punctuation. What do websites have? Nothing similar. Until now. Now you can use Tool Tips to display short bits of information that add interest to what you're saying. | |||
| Pros | |||
| • | Helps to limit the visual length of a page to make it easier to read. | ||
| • | Eleven different base styles that can be customized to fit your website's color and theme. | ||
| • | Eight different animation styles. | ||
| • | The display time of the animation can be adjusted. | ||
| • | A trigger delay can be included so the Tool Tip has a momentary pause before opening or closing during rollover or rollout. | ||
| • | Tool Tip arrows can be included ("footnotes" and "short") or left off ("websites" and "easier"). | ||
| • | Text in the Tool Tip can be read by browsers, helping your SEO. | ||
| • | Ten different Tool Tip base positions that can then be adjusted so the Tool Tip box appears exactly where you want it to be. | ||
| • | Tool Tips open on roll over or on mouse click. Tool Tips close on roll out or on mouse click. A closing X can be included to close the box (seen on "short"). | ||
| • | Window edge detection option so the Tool Tip will move to either the right or the left to ensure the entire box is visible on the screen. | ||
| • | Easy to set up, edit, or remove. | ||
| • | Selected Tool Tips can open on page load. | ||
| Cons | |||
| • | It's really, really easy to go overboard. | ||
| • | Customizing the background colors on the darker Tool Tips (not used on this page) can take a little time. | ||
